The Benefits of Tea (+ Tea Recipes)

All over the world, tea is a health essential. In the Caribbean, tea is used for healing before going to pharmaceutical medicine. Evidence shows that it has been used in countries like China dating back to 2737 BC. Since these herbs are packed with antioxidants, they have been proven to be effective in fighting inflammation, boosting the immune system and slowing down the signs of aging.


For those struggling with gastrointestinal health problems. weight gain, and high blood pressure: the high concentration of polyphenols in tea are greatly beneficial. However. I think I could speak for most people, when I say tea can be very bitter. But as a serial tea drinker, tea can be very enjoyable depending on how you drink it.

GREEN TEA

Green tea is packed with polyphenols like

EGCG (an anti-inflammatory) to help protect against cellular damage caused by free radicals in the bloodstream. Green tea has been proven to increase metabolism and aid in fat loss as well. It's great to drink in the morning since it contains caffeine which may impact sleep.



HIBISCUS TEA

Hibiscus tea is caffeine free and is made from the dried flowers of the Hibiscus plant. According to several studies, this tea promotes a healthy liver, lower blood pressure, and reduced cholesterol.

Hibiscus tea has been ranked first place due to its high concentration in vitamin

C. beta-carotene and anthocyanin.

PEPPERMINT TEA

Peppermint tea has been proven to rid bad breath, reduce nasal congestion and nausea and even help reduce menstrual cramping.

This tea has been used for years to aid with indigestion as well, as it helps reduce symptoms of gas and bloating, which can be really discomforting. Unfortunately, this tea may increase the symptoms of GERD or acid reflux, so be mindful of your intake if you suffer from those.

GINGER TEA

Ginger is highly anti-inflammatory, which makes this tea a champion for its cancer fighting properties. It also helps manage weight loss and blood sugar levels. It has been used traditionally to treat nausea and ingestion. Pregnant woman use this tea to ease morning sickness. The potent gingerol fights the flu and common cold symptoms.

CHAMOMILE TEA

Chamomile tea is made with the dried flowers of Matricaria recutita, a plant in the daisy family. This herb contains flavonoids like apigenin, which improves the quality of sleep and relaxation, so the best time to drink this is before bed time. It has also been shown to help alleviate menstrual cramps, fight inflammation and boost the

immune system.

FENNEL TEA

Fennel tea has plenty of antimicrobial and antiviral properties to fight cold/flu like symptoms. Breastfeeding mothers have also used this for tea for generations, to aid breast milk production. There are several studies that proves fennel tea helps elIminate parasites, and ease constipation, as well as improve vision and reduce gum inflammation.

BUTTERFLY PEA FLOWER TEA

Butterfly pea flower tea gained its popularity due to its beautiful transformative nature. This tea is rich in antioxidants like ternatins, which fight inflammation. It has also been used for centuries to stimulate collagen and elastin, slowing down the aging process and keeping skin firm and younger-looking.

DANDELION TEA

Dandelion tea acts as a diuretic, which increases urine output and decreases water weight. This helps to lower the risk of UTI infections. This tea has soon used to manage blood sugar blood pressure, and cholesterol as well. Native Americans have used this tea to treat a multitude of issues like kidney disease, skin problems, and even heartburn.

OOLONG TEA

Oolong tea is high in L-theanine, an amino acid that improves brain activity, sleep quality, and reduces stress and anxiety. It is best to consume in the morning: since its caffeine content is higher than green tea.
